Sansiri Orders 5,000 Doses of Moderna Vaccine as a Third Dose for Employees, Expected to Administer by Year-End
Mr. Srettha Thavisin, President and CEO of Sansiri Public Company Limited, stated that Sansiri has placed an order for 5,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, an mRNA vaccine effective against virus mutations, from a private hospital, at a cost of 8.5 million baht. This vaccine will serve as the third dose for all employees of Sansiri Public Company Limited, Plus Property Company Limited, and affiliated companies. It is expected that vaccinations will begin between November 2021 and January 2022, which is an appropriate time to boost immunity against COVID-19 mutations effectively, as all employees have already received two doses of Sinopharm vaccine, with a gap of about 3 to 4 months since the second dose.

The COVID-19 outbreak situation in Thailand is under close observation as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise. Today, even though all employees of Sansiri and its affiliated companies, as well as their families, have been vaccinated, preparedness remains crucial. We cannot predict how the situation will evolve or how many variants of the virus will emerge. Therefore, Sansiri's decision to order the Moderna vaccine, which is a high-quality mRNA vaccine that protects against various new strains of COVID-19, including the Delta (India), Alpha (UK), and Beta (South Africa) variants, as well as other potential mutations in the future, serves as an additional shield to reduce the risk of infection among employees. Currently, simply receiving vaccines quickly and widely is not enough; the vaccines must also be effective against COVID-19 mutations.
“The safety of our projects and Sansiri residents is our top priority. I am confident that having our employees vaccinated with an effective vaccine against virus mutations will enhance safety for residents and reduce risks for all Sansiri families. Additionally, administering the mRNA vaccine is another factor that assures us that our employees will be safer, allowing the organization to move forward at full speed and efficiency to achieve our sales target of 31 billion baht and transfer target of 31 billion baht as planned,” Mr. Srettha concluded.
